VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY FOR ESL
One of our amazing ESL teachers, Paula Zendle, is looking for 2-3 hours of volunteer time from a few parents. This time could be split into 30 minutes increments or whatever works for the volunteers. Two volunteers at the same would be ideal. The tasks she needs help with include: organizing books, cutting word cards for literacy intervention and making copies and scanning curriculum for literacy intervention. It would only take about 5 minutes for Mrs. Zendle to explain what to do and she would greatly appreciate the help. The parents who volunteer could do the tasks any day or time in the next two weeks. If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up by clicking here.
DGS BACKPACK PROGRAM NEEDS YOUR HELP
Each Friday Sandy picks up, sets up and delivers fresh food to DGS families in need. She needs our help to keep this wonderful program up and running throughout this school year! Every Friday we need volunteers to help transport the fresh food, set it up in the science room, pack bags for families and deliver bags to some families that do not have transportation. Please see volunteer slots by clicking here and for further details on dates, time frames and locations for the first semester of the 2016-2017 school year. Please note: When DGS Students do not have school on a Friday, there will be no fresh food deliveries. Thank you for your support!

DGS ROOM PARENTS NEEDED
DGS classrooms are in need of room parents. A room parent is one of the best ways to communicate to all parents in your child's classroom about teacher announcements and needs, partner requests or updates and PTA announcements and volunteer requests.
If you are interested, please reach out to your child's teacher to see if they are still in need of a room parent. Click here to view a description of a room parent's role at DGS. This is just a guide as each individual teacher and room parent decide together about their room parent's role for the year.
If you have already confirmed that you are the room parent for your child's classroom or you decide to be a room parent, please email your contact information by September 9th to Shelly Fitzgerald, room parent coordinator, at [email protected]
Thank you for your interest in being a room parent at DGS!
